Five Topical Working Groups (TWG) have been formed around the major themes that came out of Phase 1:
•
Freight
•
Rural and Micropolitan Issues
•
Metropolitan Issues
•
Funding and Finance
•
Economic Impact
Each TWG has 16-22 members from around the state to participate in the discussion. The groups will meet 3-4 times over the next five months to discuss specific issues.
Over the next five months, each Topical Working Group will examine its thematic area in a structured way to answer two important questions with its recommendations. The two questions are:
•
What might a new transportation funding program look like; and
•
How might various investment scenarios meet the needs that surround each topic.
In order for the Topical Working Groups to answer these questions, each group will discuss the pros and cons of various program configuration options and investment scenarios to meet the transportation needs of each focus area.
Generally, the Topical Working Group meetings will occur on the same day, in the same location, but there maybe instances where groups will meet individually. Specific meeting information can be found under each Topical Working Group and on the Meetings and Eventspage.
